Jamie Pollard is in his 13th year as the Director of Athletics at Iowa State University. Pollard's vision for success & energy have had major impacts on the ISU campus, in the Big 12 & nationally. Under Pollard’s leadership, the department has significantly invested in facilities, engaged its fan base, tripled its revenues, recorded all-time program bests on the field & in the classroom & bettered attendance marks in its five major sports.
Three years ago Pollard underwent open heart surgery. His experience caused him to examine and question what really matters when it comes to Leadership and Responsibility. Pollard will share some of his greatest insights on leadership during his keynote address.
Roger Thurow is an author and a journalist. He is a former foreign correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. As of 2010, Thurow is a senior fellow for global agriculture and food policy for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He is noted for his writing about the politics of world hunger. He is the author of, "The First 1,000 Days: A Crucial Time for Mothers and Children And the World."
Dr. Wil Blechman is a rheumatologist who developed a major interest in children's issues as a result of his work with Kiwanis. A past president of Kiwanis International, Dr. Blechman was instrumental in developing the organization's ongoing worldwide program, Young Children: Priority One, which focuses on children from before birth through age 5.
The basic structure of the human brain is created in the womb and throughout the first two years of life. Discussion will explore factors that can improve or lessen the optimal development of the child's brain and potential projects for Kiwanis involvement in positive support of such development.
Gavin Jerome has been a professional entertainer for over 20 years. He has worked with the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser, Steve Harvey and Pat Paulson. For a decade, Gavin has been providing humorous keynote addresses, humor in the workplace workshops and half day programs for companies and associations worldwide.
In this, high energy, humorous program, Gavin Jerome, The Morale Mechanic will provide you with tools, tips and techniques to reduce stress and improve morale.

The Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District is one of 47 districts worldwide in Kiwanis International. Members include men and women of all ages, faiths, and employment status. Service Leadership Programs are supported throughout the District.
The Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District is an organization of 175 individual clubs, divided into 6 Regions, made up of 24 divisions that encompass much of both states. There are approximately 5,400 Kiwanis members working toward the goal of "Serving the Children of the World."
