Camp OK - New Location: YMCA Camp - Boone, Iowa
(2013 Camp OK Counselor Application)
Camp OK is a camp for deserving fifth and sixth grade children who would not otherwise be able to attend camp. It is sponsored by the Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District Foundation through club sponsorship of children and by funded campers. The 2013 Camp will be held at the YMCA Camp at Boone, Iowa.
The club sponsorhip of a camper is $350 per camper. Each club sponsoring a camper can select the camper upon a recommendation from the camper's teacher and the Kiwanis Club.
Each year, Kiwanis Clubs should consider Camp OK as a club project and sponsor a child or children for this wonderful camping experience. This year the camp will be held for up to 120 campers from Sunday, June 2nd through Friday, June 7th at the YMCA camp at Boone, Iowa. The cabins, lodge and staff are ready, which should contribute to another positive camping experience.
All Camp activities are highlighted in the attached brochure and activities will include classes in geography, travel, culture and nature. We will also perform service projects. A packet is enclosed to help you complete the paper work, including:
The Club Commitment Form needs to be returned by March 15, 2013, to reserve a spot for your camper(s). This includes any camper(s) your club has endowed with the Foundation. Space is limited to the first 120 applications. Additional applications will be put on a waiting list.
Camp OK is a great opportunity to enrich a child's life. Your club has a chance to make a difference that will last a lifetime. We appreciate your continued support.
Sincerely,
Don Glenn
